Technology as an ally of education
Technology as an ally of education is one of the paths for the future of teaching in Brazil.
The world is undergoing a transformation, or rather, a true digital revolution. Technology has entered people's homes, their work environments and has been in schools for some time.
Our blog interviewed Valdenice Minatel, educational director of Dante Alighieri College, a very traditional educational institution in the city of São Paulo. In the conversation, we discussed how education is being impacted by technology.
The 2020 pandemic
To begin with, we couldn't stop talking about how the pandemic brought a challenging scenario to education. “The work of teachers deserves attention in order to overcome all the adversities imposed at this time,” said the educator.
In fact, many teachers struggled at the beginning of the pandemic to use technology as a means to teach remotely. And this gave rise to a movement called SOS 30 Minutes.
This is a group of educators that offered mentoring and support to teachers who needed help implementing technology in their classes. All for free.
Technology as a language
But returning to the experience of Valdenice Minatel, she affirms that it is necessary to consider technologies as language. For this reason, consistent planning and pedagogical intentionality that prioritizes the teaching and learning process are necessary.
“Technology through technology is not sufficient for expected transformations, it is necessary to go further, it is necessary to understand that there is a dialectical relationship between the use of technologies and the contexts in which this use takes place,” says Minatel.
This is how digital technologies can enhance pedagogical processes.
When the Technology in education it is addressed, much is said about its use in classrooms. However, we wanted to know the educator's opinion on how schools can use digital management tools to manage school processes.
Technology and the migration from paper to digital documents in schools
“This use [of digital management tools] is fundamental, not only because technology can bring more fluidity and agility, but because it offers transparency in the pursuit of the objectives of any management,” says Valdenice.
For Minatel, the secret of modern and agile school management is “to value people and focus on processes, with excellence and with appropriate digital technologies”. These digital technologies are increasingly reducing the use of paper in schools. But there is still room for further reduction.
“This migration [of school documentation from paper to digital media] is a trend. It should bring more efficiency and agility to the processes, but it is necessary to carry out this migration in a responsible manner, respecting, above all, current legislation, for example the LGPD,” says the director.
The electronic signature in school documentation
One of the topics of interest to us and that we asked Valdenice to share her opinion with us is about electronic signatures. And we couldn't expect a different answer:
“I think [electronic signature] is an opportunity to efficiently transform processes, including the enrollment process,” says Valdenice Minatel.
How can technology help with student retention?
Finally, we asked the director of the Dante Aliguieri College to answer how technology can help with student retention. As a professional aware of the future, but with her feet firmly on the ground, she answered:
“Technology can help only if it is integrated into a robust, consistent, and contemporary pedagogical project.”
We received a lesson about the future of education
We asked for an interview and received a real lesson on how to manage a school in a modern and efficient way.
To this end, Clicksign offers the best document management solutions for educational institutions, such as electronic signatures, for example. In addition to signing a document more quickly and easily, you can also authenticate the signers by SMS or e-mail and manage documents online. In addition, you can set custom permissions per user and access reports about your documents.
Schools can also use the Clicksign Automation and Document Management Module. Ideal for those who always use the same document templates to create new contracts, fill in the same information for each new deal and want to reduce the number of interactions before closing the sale.
With Automation it is possible to send registration documents to be signed via WhatsApp, e-mail or SMS; register customers; customize the form fields for the information you need; and insert a field for attachments (PNG, JPEG, PDF, DOC and DOCX).
The lesson remains. Technology must be linked to a good pedagogical project. Otherwise it won't work. But when combined with an efficient structure, it can make a real revolution in the educational institution.
